Raju L. Shah
Managing Director, Los Angeles

Raju L. Shah is a real estate investor, developer and manager with over 25 years of experience with all major property types.  He is a Managing Director and co-owner of Vectra Management Group, which he co-founded with Jim Tozer in 1993.

As the managing principal of VMG, Raju Shah oversees VMG’s operations, including its active developments, asset management and property management operations.  In consultation with Jim Tozer, he is responsible for VMG’s strategic vision, sourcing of investments opportunities, and managing VMG’s client and investor relations.  Raju specializes in complex, value added investments including adaptive reuse developments.  Through his leadership, VMG has successfully originated and managed through completion to lucrative liquidation many real estate investment opportunities for VMG and its clients.

In addition, Raju Shah is a managing principal of Craton Capital Management, LLC, a California registered investment advisor which is the portfolio manager for a fund of diverse private and public investments.   For Craton, he has served on several private company boards.

Raju grew up in London where he worked at a young age in his family’s real estate business.  He attended the St. Paul’s School in London before his family moved to Southern California.  He received his BS degree in Hotel Administration with a focus on finance and real estate from Cornell University and his MBA from Columbia University.  He is a licensed New York real estate broker and lives with his wife and their three children in Los Angeles County, California.

W. James Tozer, Jr.
Managing Director, New York

James Tozer, Jr. is a venture investor, real estate developer and corporate advisor. He is a Managing Director and co-owner of Vectra Management Group, which he co-founded in 1993 with Raju Shah, with whom he consults on VMG’s strategic vision, strategy for individual investments and VMG’s investor relations.

Having joined Citibank after graduate school, Jim Tozer’s career path started with international venture capital, followed by VP of Corporate Development, founding head of the Merchant Banking Group, Policy Committee Member, and finally SVP and General Manager of the New York City branch banking system.  Following Citibank, Jim served sequentially as head of investment banking at Shearson Hayden Stone, head of corporate and international banking at Marine Midland Bank/HSBC, and then president of Prudential-Bache Securities and of Lincolnshire Management.  During most of this period he was also involved in personal real estate and venture investing.

Jim Tozer was the co-founder and largest shareholder of Vectra Banking Corporation, which grew to become the second largest independent commercial bank in metropolitan Denver before it was sold to Zions Bancorporation in early 1998.  Jim and a partner then acquired control of Draper Bank, the leading bank in the southern half of the Salt Lake Valley, which, in 2001, was also sold to Zions.

In addition to serving on a diversity of corporate boards, Jim Tozer is a current or former trustee of Trinity College, the Citizens Budget Commission, Community Service Society, the 34th Street Partnership, the Deer Valley Music Festival, the School for Field Studies and Episcopal Charities of New York.

Jim is a native of Utah and a 1959 graduate of East High School in Salt Lake City.  He received his BA degree in economics from Trinity College and his MBA, with concentrations in finance and marketing, from Harvard University.  He and his wife live in Manhattan and Park City, Utah.

Bryan A. Barnes
Director, Los Angeles

Bryan A. Barnes is a seasoned real estate executive and Director of Vectra Management Group at its Los Angeles office.

At VMG he is responsible for internal operations and the sourcing of investment opportunities.  In addition, Bryan has management oversight of a portfolio of commercial office and retail assets totaling over 1 million square feet – primarily in Utah and California.

He works closely with all divisions in the Vectra Management Group network to direct the underwriting, acquisition, financing, construction management, asset management and leasing for VMG related properties.  Bryan’s wide range of responsibilities demands a big picture view and understanding of current real estate trends and practices nationwide.

Prior to joining VMG in 2010, Bryan worked in mergers and acquisitions at Newport Beach, CA based private equity firm Harvey & Company.  Bryan graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of California and holds a real estate broker license in the State of California.

Chloe A. Gehrke
Director & Principal Broker, Salt Lake City

Chloe A. Gehrke is a seasoned real estate management executive with over 20 years of experience in all aspects of property and asset management.

Since January 2014, Chloe has been the Director and Principal Broker of Vectra Management Group’s Salt Lake City Office which she opened to provide high quality, high integrity, owner-centric property management services to Vectra’s principals and third-party clients.  She leads a team of talented professionals in managing a real estate portfolio consisting of office, industrial and retail space in excess of one million square feet.  Chloe is responsible for all aspects of managing Vectra’s Salt Lake City office, supervision of her team, and client relations.

Prior to 2014, Chloe was a Commercial Investment Manager with Pinnacle where she oversaw all phases of daily operations in a portfolio of nine commercial properties totaling over 650,000 square feet.  Prior to 2005, Chloe was a Property Manager with Pinnacle and oversaw the operations on several residential and commercial projects and also had the opportunity to work on condominium conversions and management of multifamily HUD financed properties.

Chloe is a licensed Utah Real Estate Broker and lives with her husband and two sons in Bountiful, Utah.

Farran Tozer Brown
Director, New York & Park City

Farran Tozer Brown joined Vectra Management Group following 20 years of experience as a real estate investment banker, commercial real estate broker and asset manager.   At VMG, Farran has primary responsibility for the asset management of the New York and Utah properties of one of VMG’s principal investors.

As a real estate M&A banker at JP Morgan and Lazard Freres, Farran worked on all aspects, from initiation to execution, of over $4 billion of office, hotel and apartment transactions for public and private real estate investors, including Lazard’s Real Estate Fund.  Subsequently, as a commercial real estate broker at Studley and Cushman & Wakefield, Farran represented tenants, including non-profits, private equity and law firms.  Earlier in her career, Farran was an analyst at Lehman Brothers in project finance.  In addition, she served on the Executive Committee and as the Chief of Staff of the Royal Academy of Arts in London.

Farran has served as a board member of Manhattan Community Board 6, New York Landmark Conservancy, Drama League, Sir John Soane Museum, 470 Park Avenue and on committees of the Museum of the City of New York, School of American Ballet and The Brearley School.

Farran attended The Brearley School, Trinity College and Wesleyan University from which she received her BA with honors in Economics and Political Science.  She also received her MBA from Harvard Business School.  Farran, her husband and three daughters split their time between London, New York City and Park City, Utah.

Pam Mahoney
Senior Real Estate Manager, Salt Lake City

Pam Mahoney is a senior real estate manager with over 30 years in real estate and 20 years in managing commercial office buildings.  From working for a real estate developer in Northern California, she helped the head of development begin his own property management company, The Edward Pike Co.  Pam moved to Utah with her family in 1996.  In 1997, she began working for Transwestern Commercial Services and managed The Merrill Lynch Building, a 70,000 square foot office building in Murray.  She added Jordan Gateway Plaza to her portfolio in 2001. Pam was recruited by CBRE in 2006 to manage 257 Tower, a 13-story office building in downtown Salt Lake.  Her portfolio grew to seven properties comprising 800,000 square feet with three management staff and two building engineers.  In 2013, Pam shifted her portfolio to a six-building campus of office buildings totaling 500,000 square feet on 27 acres in Provo.  In 2015, the building owner shifted the management contract to Newmark so Pam and her staff made the move as well.

Pam has been very active in BOMA Utah, serving as Vice President (2004-2005) and President (2006-2007), as well as on committees and as a Board Member.  She was the first recipient of the CCIM Property Manager of the Year award in 2013.

Pam graduated from UCLA with an art history major and French minor and studied at the Sorbonne in Paris her junior year.  She is a licensed Utah Real Estate Sales Agent and lives in Lindon, Utah with her husband.  Their daughter and her family live in Toulouse, France.
